How Marra works
A marra is a mate, someone who has your back. Marra connects you with neighbours who need a hand, through people who already know them.
Every request follows the same line
- Posted A partner who knows them checks the request and posts it
- Covered Neighbours offer everything that was asked for
- Done The partner makes sure the help arrives
- Confirmed You hear how it went, often with a thank-you
Why it's safe
- Only partners can post.
- You never swap numbers or addresses. Time is given at the partner's venue, or after they've introduced you.
- One-to-one time needs a background check (DBS), which the partner arranges.
- Money goes straight to the partner's own account, never to Marra, and can only be spent on that request.
- Nobody stays in a stranger's home. Shelter means a hostel or B&B booked by the partner.
- People choose what's shared about them, and can have it taken down whenever they like.
